SRI's Biggest Loser 100th Hit & Green light to Breakthrough with Tony Robbins
ShineReveille International's worldwide hit, "The Biggest Loser," has just celebrated its 100th episode on NBC and been renewed for the 2009-10 season. The 100th show, which aired February 10th, attracted 9.3 million viewers and saw ratings increase by 28% from the episode airing in the same time slot one year ago.
"The Biggest Loser," which has aired in more than 90 countries around the world, has established itself as the quintessential inspirational reality show. Due in large part to this, NBC has also green-lit Reveille's new "Breakthrough with Tony Robbins," which will apply the same motivational brand of storytelling to all areas of life.
NBC alternative programming chief Paul Telegdy told Variety that one of the main reasons he picked up the Robbins project was "We were looking for shows complementary of each other, and this fit in thematically with 'Biggest Loser.' "
